Redmi Pad Leak Shows colors & storage options, may launch next month

Redmi Pad Leak suggests that a new tablet is on the way from Xiaomi soon. with a new leak revealing its launch timeline, color options, and even its storage configurations.

Earlier, it was reported that the Chinese tech giant might be planning on launching the upcoming tablet sometime this week. However, a report from TechGoing claims that the Redmi Pad will be launching next month, in October 2022. Now, another separate report from PriceBaba has also claimed that the October launch timeline might be accurate.

We have also exclusively learned from our trusted tipster that the Redmi Pad will be available in three color options – Graphite Grey, Mint Green, and Moonlight Silver.

That’s not all, we have also learned that Redmi Pad will be available in at least two memory variants. One will offer 3GB of RAM with 64 GB of memory, while the other offers 4GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage.

The tablet has recently visited the SIRIM, BIS, and SGS Fimko certification websites. Here are the details.

Redmi Pad has been spotted on various certification sites including Malaysia’s SIRIM, India’s BIS, and SGS Fimko (Via Mukul Sharma). The handset was seen listed with model number 22081283G. SGS Fimko listing suggests the tablet will be equipped with 18W charging.

In addition, the BIS listing signals the device may also launch in India soon.

Redmi Pad India launch timeline revealed

The news arrives from known tipster Mukul Sharma who shared the information on Twitter. As per @stufflistings, the Chinese tech giant plans on launching the new tablet sometime early next month. Apparently, the upcoming Redmi Pad will be officially released in India around the first week of October 2022. He also added that this model is a budget level tablet but did not share any other details regarding the device.

This model is also expected to launch in two storage configurations, namely a 3GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants. The device is also expected to run on Android 12 OS based MIUI 3 custom skin out of the box. It will apparently launch in three colors as well, Graphite Grey, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green option.

There has been more news corroborating the Mint Green color of the Redmi Pad. Earlier today, a report by MySmartPrice,  had spotted a social media post by the official Xiaomi Kuwait handle revealing the design of the said tablet. The social media post is now deleted but showed Redmi Pad in all its glory in the Mint Green color.

The Redmi Pad has been the subject of multiple leaks. According to what we know so far, the tablet will sport an 11.2-inch LCD screen with a 2K resolution. According to reports, it will be powered by the latest MediaTek MT8781 chipset and would include a 7,800mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging capabilities. The camera may include an 8-megapixel sensor but no LED flash. The Redmi Pad is rumored to run the Android 12 operating system with MIUI Pad 13 on top.

It may pack in a 7,800mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. If we talk about the optics, the pad may have a sole 8-megapixel rear camera without an LED flash. On the software front, it is expected to run the Android 12 OS with MIUI Pad 13 on top. A recent TDRA listing hints that the tablet will be available in cellular as well as Wi-Fi-only models.

Earlier leaks also mentioned two models: 3GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB. However, according to our sources, there may not be a 128GB model, and both types will just feature 64GB of internal storage. A new leak also says that the Redmi Pad would prioritize media consumption and may include a quad-speaker configuration.

The leaks also point out that there could be Wi-Fi and cellular models for Redmi Pad. Last week, the Wi-FI-only model of the Redmi Pad was spotted on the TDRA.

In terms of cost, the Redmi Pad cellular variant is likely to be available in European regions for between 250 and 350 euros. However, according to this morning’s leak, the Redmi Pad would cost 71.9 Kuwaiti Dinars, or around Rs 18,800.
