The much-anticipated update to the POCO X2 has begun. However, it will be a limited release awaiting the completion of the beta preview, which we anticipate in the next several days. Xiaomi recently announced the second phase of the MIUI 13 stable deployment, which has begun to roll out to eligible devices. So far, the upgrade has only been available on a few Xiaomi phones, largely luxury models in China, but it appears that mid-range models are also receiving the update.
POCO X2 Specs
The Poco x2 was released in December 2019 with Android 10 pre-installed on top of MIUI 11. It is now running Android 11 with MIUI 12.5, however this is changing as Xiaomi is now releasing MIUI 13 stable update with Android 12 to device owners. The update is 3.9GB in size and, predictably, includes all of the promised additions.
The new additions include the Mi Smart Hub, which is incorporated into the redesigned MIUI control center and connects all Xiaomi ecosystems running MIUI. Surprisingly, the bundle includes additional privacy features such as a privacy camera for facial recognition, protective watermarks for photographs, and a thorough anti-fraud protection mechanism. New widgets, Mi Sans system font, “crystallization” super wallpapers, and Mi AI can now be completely optimized have all been included.
POCO X2 MIUI 13 stable update has bumped the Android security patch level to February 2022 and has increased system security. The update also improved system performance and stability, and you can check the full changes via this link.
