The FCC has approved the forthcoming Redmi Note 11S 5G. If you’re thinking, “wait, there’s already a Redmi Note 11S,” you’re correct – but the “5G” suffix is significant and effectively distinguishes this phone.
We had previously heard that Redmi was working on expanding its 5G portfolio with the Redmi Note 11S 5G, and this has now been verified. Furthermore, the certification confirms that the Redmi Note 11S 5G is really a rebranded Poco M4 Pro 5G.
The FCC, however, does not provide the marketing name 22031116BG. However, it reveals that the 22031116BG would be sold as a Redmi-branded smartphone by Xiaomi. It also mentions that 22031116BG is ‘electrically similar’ to 21091116AG, the model number of the POCO M4 Pro 5G. In other words, among other things, the 22031116BG sports a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Furthermore, the FCC claims that the 22031116BG will be available in single-SIM and dual-SIM configurations. Similarly, Xiaomi claims to have developed four memory variants:
- 4 GB of RAM/64 GB of storage
- 4 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage
- 6 GB of RAM/64 GB of storage
- 6 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage
