Xiaomi published an article today outlining what will happen to the cloud sync function in the MIUI gallery. Xiaomi solves the sync problem by incorporating Google Photos backup capability into its own system software.
“Xiaomi is continuously searching for ways to improve our software product experience. Google Photos and Xiaomi share similar values in aiming to provide a reliable platform for users and their day-to-day moments captured on their smartphones. Our cooperation with Google Photos will offer users an easy way to ensure their data is stored securely, while being able to easily access them across different devices as required,” said Quanxin Wang, General Manager of Product & Technology, Xiaomi International.
“We’re excited to be able to help provide Xiaomi users with an even easier way to back up their photos and videos to Google Photos from their Android devices. With all your memories together, Google Photos can help you easily search, organize, share and relive your best moments on more devices,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President, Google Photos.
The MIUI gallery app will take you to the Google Photos app. You will also do the backup procedure there. Xiaomi Cloud users will be able to simply transfer their current backed-up films and photographs to Google Photos. App upgrades will begin spreading out this feature to current devices in Singapore on October 24th, 2022, with additional markets to follow.
