5 Best MIUI Features Users Don’t Know - Tips and Tricks

MIUI has numerous features that I love using, such as floating windows, App lock, and reading mode. If you’ve been using the MIUI for a long, you’re probably already familiar with most of the capabilities. However, many things that may be valuable are flying under the radar. In this post, we will go over 5 MIUI Tips & Tricks that you may not be aware of.

List of 5 MIUI Features Users Don’t Know

1. Second Space

Xiaomi has built a function into its devices that allow users to preserve private data in a different location. This is known as the Second space.

The second place is a totally separate location in the phone’s storage that is password-protected, and users may keep the data safe by using a different email ID. The second space appears to be an entirely different phone. It does not contain any data from your existing storage.

You may install new applications, change your background, and even use a different launcher in the second spot. You may also make a separate unlock mode for it.

How to enable second space?

To enable the Second space, Go to the App drawer and open the Security app. Now scroll down to find the Second space and tap.

2. Universal Cast

Xiaomi’s MIUI has a one-of-a-kind casting capability that allows you to cast your device’s screen to any smart TV or PC. This casting tool was featured in earlier MIUI versions as well, but Xiaomi has made some incredible enhancements to it with the MIUI 12 release.

You may now conceal sensitive data from view by touching on it individually. You may also conceal incoming alerts and calls with the latest update (Which saves you from being embarrassed publicly).

Not only that, but you can also minimize the screen you’re casting and use other apps at the same time.

How To use the casting feature:

  • Go to settings and tap on Connection & Sharing
  • Now tap on Cast and you’re good to go!

3. Image blur tool

This function is more helpful than it appears. It can literally save you a lot of time. We frequently capture screenshots and share them with others, but many times the screenshots contain private information that cannot be shared, therefore we use a picture editor to blur or obscure the sensitive information.

However, using MIUI’s picture blur feature, you may apply it immediately after taking the screenshot. You may even crop or doodle over the Screenshot.

How To use this feature:

  • Take a screenshot and tap on the minimized window.
  • Choose from the blur and scribble features given.

4. Video toolbox

One of my favorite MIUI Tips & Tricks. The video toolbox allows you to play video sound while the screen is turned off. If you enjoy listening to music via video streaming services such as YouTube, you will enjoy this function.

You can conserve your phone’s battery by playing your favorite music while turning off the screen. This completely destroys the idea of YouTube premium (You still get the annoying ads though).

The video toolbox also aids in screencasting; there is a cast button incorporated into the toolbar that allows you to cast the screen with a single press.

How To enable this feature:

  • Go to the Settings and scroll down to find Special features
  • Now tap on the Video toolbox and proceed to the toolbar setting
  • Modify the settings. Add YouTube to the video apps by clicking Manage video apps

5. Ultra-battery saver mode

When you have a low battery and a long day ahead of you, ultra-battery can be incredibly handy. This function extends battery life by up to 25%.

In order to give the greatest standby duration, it disables the most power-consuming apps and functions and reduces device performance.

After activating the ultra-battery saver, you will only be able to utilize basic functions like as calling, texting, and connecting to a network. You can activate some of the required applications, such as WhatsApp and Telegram, if necessary.

How To enable Ultra-battery saver mode

  • Go to Settings and scroll down to find Battery and Performance
  • Now Click on Ultra-battery saver and turn the toggle on.
